Raw Oysters
Was living on the East Coast but now back on the Gulf Coast. The East Coast had a lot of oyster dives, good, but their oysters were tiny. They bragged about varieties but again, they were small and expensive. I did notice the different taste which I liked but would not trade them for
gulf coast oysters. I don't even care for the horse radish sauce, I can just eat them plain with a few good beers. My wife can't stand them, something about textures which I honestly never understood. She has eaten some fried and barbecued but to me that ruins the flavor. |

Re: Raw Oysters
I tried 'em once fried with some kind of coating, did not like 'em that way at all. For me, the only way is to eat 'em on the shell, with or without a shot of hotsauce or as a 'oyster shooter', in the bottom of a shot glass, .
Saw that Man vs Food episode at the Acme Oyster House in NO a few years back and figure I could knock back 15 dozen, no problem ... it's on my "bucket" list. |
