I'm back, despite some difficult times
Hi guys, I haven't been on here much at all here for a while. But I think I'll be checking in more, especially once those preseason cuts start coming.
This year has been difficult. My first wife and mother of my two teen daughters was diagnosed with non-smoker's lung cancer last year. It was a very aggressive cancer that also spread into her brain. She passed away 3 weeks ago. I'll slowly begin taking full custody of my daughters. I don't want to be a dick to their step-dad and rush things because he's a widow and it is tough times. The kids are handling it fairly well, but having lost my mom to cancer too I know how long it can take to comprehend the loss. I really don't know how many Saints games I'll watch this year. I don't see myself going out to the bar very often on Sundays and I'll try to catch the games that are on national TV when I can. I also expect to watch some Vikings games and cheer them on a bit because that's my kids' team and their mom's team and also the team virtually all of the family members love. If anyone has any advice on raising children who have lost a parent, I'm all ears. It's going to be challenging. Especially since my oldest daughter will be starting her first year of high school soon. This is the only forum I would ever post this on, because I know how classy many of you are. Even the non-Saints fans like Caddieman here are cool. It was nice taking an offseason break, but I missed you guys on here. Looking forward to exciting seasons for the Saints and Vikes. |

Welcome back Neugey. Good to see you post again. Your family is in our prayers. Wish I could offer some advice in the kids but can't.

Sorry to hear that. Just remember, children are very resilient, all you can do is be a rock for them and do the best you can. Good luck bro.
