Founders are class. I had their Backwards Bastard Scotch Ale on the weekend and it was so good.

My personal favorite since I was living in Wyoming when I first started drinking beer:

Not a beer aficionado by any means and I'll admit I ordered my first Fat Tire based solely on the coolness of it's name, but it did open me up to trying Belgian beers when I see 'em, .

Re: Beer Appreciation

Just sampled pretty much all of the Greek beers, mostly lighter lagers. They did have one dark one, Fix Dark Premium Lager; not bad.

Re: Beer Appreciation

Had the Abita Restoration Pale Ale last night. Great session ale. Beautiful colour and lacing. The taste was light lightly hopped flavour and a nice dry crisp finish.

I have found Abita make consistently great tasting beers. They don't have the complexity and wow factor that of some of the more experimental craft breweries create but they are very enjoyable beers.

Re: Beer Appreciation

OK, so you Abita drinkers need to try the mixes. If you haven't done the Abita tour, I recommend it.

Golden Retriever : Fill bottom of glass with Turbodog and top off with Golden.

Hound Dog : Fill bottom half of glass with Amber and top off with Turbodog.

Purple Pooch : Fill bottom of glass with Purple Haze and top with Turbodog. (I recommend this one)

Turbo-Gator : Fill 3/4 glass with Turbodog and top off with Andygator.

Barney : Fill bottom half of glass with Andygator and top with Purple Haze.

These are straight from the Brewery......enjoy.

Re: Beer Appreciation

Aus got some Jester King over the last month so I picked up three different ones. Last year I had my first Jester King which was a sour brown. Absolutely amazing beer. Looking forward to having some more.
