Star Wars - The Force Awakens
I just got home from seeing it. I thought it was amazing. Without saying anything spoiler wise for those who haven't seen it I thought Abrams nailed it!
He managed to capture that sense of awe and amazement I felt when I was a kid watching A New Hope for the first time. Something the prequels were just not able to do at all. Anyone else seen it yet? Thoughts? |

I just hope it isn't your typical left wing Hollywood bull**** we've been "Force" fed forever.
Global Warming Anti-Capitalism Anti-Corporation Pro- Social Justice Pro - Gayness Anti-White people Anti-Christian Anti-gun As long as that crap isn't in it, I'll watch it. Basically what I'm saying is if its not James Cameron-esque, I'm 100% with it! |

I'm going to see it today! . Luckily, I'm too g'damned obtuse and fascinated with the special affects to see all that hidden poli-sci stuff in there, .
Darn'it, Danno! Now I'm gonna' go back and spend a weekend watching all the old ones looking for that stuff, . |

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens
Alright, went and seen it ... it's a good movie, but I didn't think it lived up to all the hype. It was cool how much effort they put into tying in stuff from the previous episodes, but they didn't spend enough time developing the characters like they have in the past, IMO. Some of the scenes were just a rehash of the other movies, as well, just with a change of characters and a slight twist in the plot. Special affects were awesome, as expected ... overall, I'd give it a B- or C+ ... liked the first three (Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi) better, .

Liked the new girl character Rey. Hated the new dark side character Ren, what a punk. Definitely see the rehash Slo-Mo alluded to.

I know ... little too much like your typical "emo high school student", IMO ... thought he sorta' looked like Gene Simmons son, ... quite a let down from previous Sith Lords/Warriors, just sayin'. How 'bout that Snokes/Snopes or whatever his name was ... I thought it was a big Voldamort from Harry Potter, .

Nailed it there, I thought the same thing about the Snokes/Snopes. Disappointing that they let that temper tantrum prone Dark Side Apprentice kill Hans Solo, he was not worthy. He should have never taken off his helmet, it would have been better.
