Re: Lionel Messi announces he is quitting the Argentina national team

Messi could change his mind (still a emotional reaction after a tough loss). The man has been GREAT for a long time. Argentina had other players (mid fielders) who didn't step up last night. Anytime Lionel touched the ball, 4 Chile defenders swarmed to him.

Give Chile credit though ... they defended him well.

Arg has world-class players at almost every position... I really thought they'd win 3-0.
He is obviously upset now, but he'll be back. People forget that with the big clubs playing foreign tours and these guys playing for their countries, that some players are scheduled 11 months out of the year. He's prob just burned out, but that free kick vs the US shows he hasn't slowed down

Oh, this is about soccer?

I thought it was something important.

In the future can we put a warning if posts are about soccer? No need to waste people's time.

Sorry about that...you'll probably want to rush right back to the main forum and the riveting discussions on favorite plays, most obscure plays, favorite player not including Brees, fav player including Brees, pre-game rituals, and the 14 slide show articles offering insight on how bad/awful/improved our o-line and/or defense are.
Or maybe "this day in Saints history"? I think today is Billie Joe Hobert's niece's teacher's birthday
