The few that caught my eye...

#11 The average age of America’s dams is now 52 years.

#25 America does not have a single airport that is considered to be in the top 25 in the world.

#28 The original name of the city of Atlanta was “Terminus“.

#35 In 1980, the U.S. national debt had just surpassed the one trillion dollar mark. In 2019, we are about to surpass the 22 trillion dollar mark with no end in sight.

Atlanta was founded in 1837 as the end of the Western & Atlantic railroad line (it was first named Marthasville in honor of the then-governor's daughter, nicknamed Terminus for its rail location, and then changed soon after to Atlanta, the feminine of Atlantic -- as in the railroad).

The age of Dams caught my eye as well - but it coincides with the first Clean Water Acts and the uptick in environmental awareness that began in the 1960's...

The other side of it, of course, is are these Dams being maintenanced, re-worked?!? Now that's the real question...

Those dams were all built in a period we could graciously refer to as pre-SD (pre-snail darter). In today's world of legislation and regulation by litigation, the construction of dams would be tied up in court for decades. Consider that the act of REPLACING a major bridge in the same location can take over 10 years to complete due to law suits, environmental impact statements, hearings, protests, etc.

Funny how you never hear liberals and activists mention this when they whine about our crumbling infrastructure...
