Yeager's accomplishments as a pilot were amazing. To do what he did and live to 97 borders on miraculous.

He did and saw more than most Americans will ever dream of doing themselves A great American passes. RIP.

He lived in an era where risk was understood, and the job was often fatal. Yet he, and others like him, still climbed into the cockpit. I often wonder if the current generation would tolerate or even understand what occurred in the 50's and 60' in order to get to where we are in 2020.

Today's accomplishments in aeronautics and space exploration only happen because this and future generations have the privilege of "standing on the shoulders of giants."

Yeager and those that flew with him don't get near enough recognition.
