Pandoras Box - Please Read before you venture ito this area

If you are not familiar with Pandora's Box a brief explanation is here.
Pandora's box - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The moral of the story of Pandoras Box is that fulfilling your curiosity is an act that can not be undone and often unleashing evil while leaving hope trapped in the bottom of the jar. Things you see can not be unseen, things you read can not be unread. Seek information but understand the consequence.

If a thread was titled "Learn how you will die".... Is that something you want to live each day knowing? For some that would turn a lifetime of joy into a lifetime of misery.

Some people do not want to know what is behind the Matrix, they understand that some information is not liberating, it actually becomes their own prison.

There are some people that had happiness in their life until the day they read just one blog, just one conspiracy theory, just one article titled "what really happened"... They now have a TV show, its called Dooms Day Preppers and they live preparing for something may never happen... If there is an event that does throw civilization into the day of MadMax and The Road Warrior... Do you really want to survive?

Anyway, I am only posting this because I do not want to wake up one day and find a member of these forums no longer reading and posting in threads about the New Orleans Saints because he can not get WiFi in his spider hole.

Temper your belief in what you read by doing some background checks on the author. Government, bloggers, theorists, everyone has a motive for their interpretations. Some times their motive is just to see how many people will bite.

There is a difference between plausible, possible, and probable.

While being an expert in a field may lend credibility to a theory it speaks nothing to their integrity.

Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster

Well I don't know about anyone else, but I don't live my life in fear. I would rather know the truth and be disappointed at times, than to live a lie. I am sickened and angered with the world today, but not afraid of it.

I don't pay much attention to the authors, bloggers or whoever else, themselves. You have to look at what is said and try to find proof behind their claims. I personally couldn't care less about doing background checks of the people who make the claims. Just check the information given.

Not a criminal history check per-sey, but if the topic is important the source is relevant. Knowing that someone is a sponsor of or member of the Weather Underground gives you a perspective on motive and integrity.

For instance if the article is about KBR's ties to Halliburton and Dick Cheney and how they were given lucrative contracts in Iraq by Author X and he has ties to the Weather Underground, which is tied to George Sorros, and then discovering that George Sorros is the largest financial supporter of the Democratic party and Barrak Obama, then discovering that George Sorros bought 1.9 million shares of Halliburton stock in 2006 (which he did)..

You have a real WTF moment regardless of what is in the article. As Halliburton/Dick Cheney/and George Bush epitomize evil in liberal eyes.

I completely understand all that. It's good to know who the source is, but what I'm saying is regardless of who says what, a simple check of the facts will tell you if they're telling the truth or not. Regardless of motive. Knowing the source just affirms it a little bit more. Some people refuse to check the source or the information given. That's when it gets pathetic.

Some people version of fact checking is

True = MSNBC and CNN carrying the same story.

I was once told by someone "if it comes from the AP it has to be true".

If I hear it from any of those sources, I won't even pay attention to it.
