Re: My FF Team
Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt explained Monday that Ryan Williams started over Beanie Wells in Week 1 only because Wells was battling a hamstring injury.
"Nothing more than that," Whiz assured. Williams struggled mightily against Seattle, gaining just nine yards on eight carries and losing a fumble. Wells wasn't much better, rushing seven times for 14 yards. In terms of fantasy value, the Cards' backfield is one to avoid with two gimpy runners in a timeshare. Source: Darren Urban on Twitter |

I can't talk much about fanatasy. My team was just as bad as our team. Fred Jackson hurt..out for at least a month. Atlanta has decided that they don't run the ball anymore so Turner got next to nothing for me. New England don't need Welker anymore, he only had 3 catch's. Gonna need some adjustments :( |
Jets Hill and Kerley had fantastic games and both available. Not sure Sanchez can keep delivering like that though.
|
Re: My FF Team
Hill may be waiver worthy. Whether or not he comes within an ounce of Calvin Johnson ability, athletically, they are freaks. It all comes down to Sanchez for Hill. He has all the ability in the world.

Re: My FF Team
I agree but hate to make a hasty move based off one game. Gotta wait to see if they can continue the success. I actually picked up Cobb with GB. I've had my eye on him and heard a bunch of good things. Rodgers loves him and he had a good game yesterday. I'm crap shooting with my RB situation. I was able to get Morris with the Skins. Hopefully he ca work out. I hate having to rely on a RB with Shanahan as the coach.
|
Re: My FF Team
I love the way they used Cobb Sunday. Line him up in the back field and let him move around the field creating mismatches. Being how crappy their running backs are, if it were up to me, I'd give him 3-5 carries a game too. He was an elusive running quarterback at Kentucky.
|
Re: My FF Team
I hate when the year starts off like crap. I hate to make hasty decisions but wth do I do..let Turner and Welker ride another week? If they have similar performances, I am screwed again for the week and start out 0-2..which is no good!
|
Re: My FF Team
You didn't draft them high to sit them on the bench.
Welker's non-involvement I read, was actually part of the game plan. They wanted to focus against their opponents' weakness focusing on running the ball and attacking the middle of the field as their linebackers made the adjustment. Hence the big game by Ridley and their two stud TE's. Welker should rebound... they aren't paying him all that money to play decoy. While Turner supposedly is on the decline, he essentially put the exact same statistics last year as he did in 2010... 1300 yards and double digit touchdowns. He also averaged 4.5 yards per carry. So while all these experts claim he's trending downwards, the numbers just don't back it up. Be patient and give it a couple weeks. Don't do anything rash. Even if you want to trade them, you don't do it after a miserable game. Let them build their value back up so you don't sell yourself short. And if they rebound, you might even wind up keeping them and ride it out. Chalk up the loss of your fantasy team like the Saints. Plenty of football left. |

Re: My FF Team
So who did you guys pick up for the first waiver wire session?
I wasn't able to land Cobb so I settled with Dexter McCluster for Jerome Simpson and Dustin Keller for Marcellus Bennett. Nothing significant. Dual eligibility is nice for McCluster is nice... can free up a roster spot. Keller for Bennett was pretty much a lateral move. I'll probably be switching TE's like dirty underwear in that one league. |
Re: My FF Team
lol....I picked up Cobb and Alfred Morris. I dropped PT Cruiser and Ryan Williams. I am trying to get a trade going for C.J. Spiller because I have an abundance of good receivers. If Welker pans out I have him, A.J. Green, Percy Harvin, Kenny Britt and now Cobb. Hopefully I can work out something.
|
Re: My FF Team
Yea you definitely can afford to move one of your starting receivers for a running back. If Morris can continue his success, you may not even have too. Britt's a big wildcard. He back after suspension and if he plays anything like he did last year when healthy, that's a sick receiving core. You'd probably have to give up Welker or Green to get Spiller(right now)... probably should wait til he has an off game. His asking price is sky high right now.
|
Re: My FF Team
I figured as much but the person that has him, isn't even using him. He is on the bench!! He's starting Gore and Bradshaw. So I offered him Britt knowing he probably won't go for that but I told him to tell me what it would take to get Spiller off his bench. I am awaiting his reply lol

Re: My FF Team
Wow,i have just joined a new dynasty league and have to my great shame taken over the Steelers in the leagues North division.
Im pretty sure the red headed stepchild of Al Davis and Jerry Jones was in charge of the team before me.Its a 12 team league and im stuck with Roethlisberger as my starting QB and Chad Henne as back up. He was deffo a massive homer when it came to drafting I have decided to keep Ben Roethlisberger QB PIT Rashard Mendenhall RB ARI Steven Jackson RB ATL Reggie Bush RB DET Calvin Johnson WR DET Cecil Shorts WR JAC Ryan Broyles WR DET Heath Miller TE PIT Clay Mathews LB GB Roman Harper S NO Stephen Tulloch LB DET Charles Johnson DL CAR Cut Chad Henne QB JAC Larod Stephen-Howling RB PIT James Stark RB GB Brandon Gibson WR MIA Santana Moss WR WAS Dan Bailey K DAL Now my initial though was to draft a QB early and some help at TE and WR and try and steal a long term upgrade at RB.Then i noticed a trade had been made last year with Dallas for Ryan Tannehill and the plans crashed.I have no first round draft pick this year as he traded it for Tannehill, okay i can sort this.Tannehill has alot of upside in the next year or two.He cut him a week later for Henne as it was a emergency trade. He also attempted a trade for MJD offering C Johnson in exchange but luckily it was Vetoed I should have had Vernon Davis till he traded him for Santana Moss,i do have a second pick in the second as part of the Tannehill trade as it was Tannehill/2nd round pick for Freeman/1st. Its going to take some work to get this disaster back on track.May even require a Jimmy Johnson/Herschel Walkerstyle trade with Calvin Johnson. |
Re: My FF Team
Hopefully you don't have to fork over money for that.
Yuck. I'd probably move Calvin Johnson to upgrade your team too. Small downgrade at WR and get a solid RB with it. |
Re: My FF Team
Im going to wait till after the draft and try and trade him towards the end of the season to a contender and grab a load of picks to try and get obe of the QBs coming out next year. I think ill get more later on. It also lets me see who I can get from the draft.
Its s free league so no money loss. |
Re: My FF Team
My first draft of the season is in the early hours of the morning for me.
Starting a new dynasty league Big Roster Quarterback:1 Running Back:2 Wide Receiver:2 Tight End:1 Kicker:1 Running Back / Wide Receiver / Tight End:1 Defensive Line:3 Linebacker:4 Defensive Back:4 Bench:10 Reserve:4 |
Re: My FF Team
It's early to be drafting huh?
|
Re: My FF Team
First year dynasty draft so not much of a issue.
Im in a ton of leagues so its handy that this one is early |
Re: My FF Team
And here is my team
I could have picked up some more experienced players for the bench but i liked the upside of the rookies for a dynasty draft. I generally stay away from Saints players Quite happy and took a flyer on Lattimore late I should have taken a second WR earlier looking at it again but i went with RG3 and Graham as there was a rush at QB and wanted Graham and then a big rush at WR. Happy enough though as i think ill have some trade bait with a RB Start 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE) K 3 DL 4 LB 4 DB QBs Robert Griffin III Sam Bradford RBs Jamaal Charles Chris Ivory Lamar Miller Eddie Lacy Shane Vereen Marcus Lattimore WRs Randall Cobb Dwayne Bowe Tavon Austin T.Y Hilton TE Jimmy Graham Coby Fleener K Phill Dawson DL Robert Quinn Rob Ninkovich Michael Johnson Esekiel Ansah LBs Sean Lee Sean Weatherspoon Paul Posluszny Bobby Wagner Colin McCarthy DBs Tyvon Branch Glover Quinn Kan Chancellor LaRon Landry Matt Elam |
Re: My FF Team
I really like the group of LBs. Team looks good though there's some uncertainty behind Charles at RB. That said, there's definitely some upside there.
|
Re: My FF Team
I could have taken Jackson or Forte as a second RB but went Cobb-Graham instead. In the 4th round Gore was still there but i wanted somebody to last more than a year.
Im really happy with the IDPs. I just missed out on Cam Jordan so went with Rob Ninkovich instead, the great thing is he could end up at LB this year so his stats should stand out. Not going to get many INT from the DB but with scoring of 2pts INT,1 solo/0.5 assisted tackles and 2 for sacks/forced fumbles i wanted run stuffing safties instead of CBs. Just glad i didnt take Maclin and Pitta,im working so went to bed early as the draft was 1am in theuk and got up for the draft and i hadnt seen any news on either being out for the season. |
Re: My FF Team
Another team to add
1st year Keeper Start 1 QB 2 RB 3 WR 1 TE 1 W/R 1 R/W/T DEF Kicker Fat Tony's Goon Squad QBs Tony Romo Sam Bradford RBs Trent Richardson Alfred Morris Lamar Miller Le'Veon Bell Eddie Lacy Danny Woodhead WRs Emmanuel Sanders Victor Cruz Mike Williams Chris Givens Alshon Jeffery Rueben Randle Kendall Wright TEs Coby Fleener Delanie Walker Kicker Steven Hauschka DEF Green Bay Packers Maybe should have left Lacey and taken another receiver earlier and TEs |
