Keeper league help

I am in a long established, competitive, 16 team, limited keeper & an auction league.

180 bucks to spend. You can keep 6 if you keep a defense or PK.

Normal rules with bonuses for 100 yrds rushing or receiving, 300 passing, long FGs. A LOT of points to make with defense. Defensive TDs are 10 pts + 2 pts for an int or fumble. Right now I am thinking...

Bree's - 49

Steven Ridley RB. NE. - 36

Frank Gore RB SF. - 25

Dexter McCluster WR. KC - 1

Jared Cook TE. ST L - 3

Seattle Def - 3

So 117 spent for 6 players. Leaves me 63 for 9 players. I will need to get two good WRs & a backup QB. I will also hope for a sleeper or rookie to come through.

OR - should I drop Ridley at 36 & keep Owen Daniels at 6 & give myself an extra 30 to spend?

Thanks for any thoughts.

I'll see you in Hell Candy Boys!!!

Re: Keeper league help

I dont have that much experience in auction keeper leagues but having been playing around with some mocks.
Id keep Ridley personally. There is bound to be at least one person without a top RB who would outbid you to get him in the auction.Id probably take what you have and sit out the start of the auction and jump in a little later when the rookies start coming into play and the WR are down to the likes of Stevie Johnson,DeSean Jackson,DeAndre Hopkins and load up on players with upside

Re: Keeper league help

If you drop Ridley, and especially it being a deeper league, your offense is going to look really weak.

With that said, what's the prospective market for running backs look like? Do you think you can get him back in an auction for a cheaper amount? If Ridley went for 36, the top tier backs on the market must cost an arm and a leg. If that indeed is the case, then keeping Ridley at 36 may be a bargain.

Also, what other options do you have? Post your team.

Re: Keeper league help

Just completed a draft
Took another another dynasty team(10 team/4keepers) and had... as my keepers
Matt Forte/MJD
Steve Smith/Randall Cobb

Its
2 QB
3 RB
3 WR
2 TE
2 R/T/W
2 D/ST
1 K

Didnt do too bad as the only QBs worth drafting were Eli,Luck,RGIII,Romo so i had too move early.

Somehow got Demaryius Thomas with the 7th pick and lost out on loads of RBs as there was a rush while i took my QBs.

Drafted team

QB
Robert Griffin III
Andrew Luck
EJ Manuel
Matt Flynn(Worth a shot with last pick)

RB
Matt Forte
MJD
Shane Vereen
Andre Brown
Mark Ingram
Michael Bush(Had to handcuff Forte)
Rashard Jennings(Surely McFadden gets injured)

WR
Randall Cobb
Steve Smith
DeMaryius Thomas
Tavon Austin
DeAndre Hopkins
Andre Roberts
Robert Woods

TE
Martellus Bennett
Tyler Eifert
Ed Dickson

D/ST
Patriots
Packers

K
Justin Tucker

Took a few shots in the dark with the rookies but i prefer the chance one breaks out than the normal barnacles at the bottom of the barrel.
Happy in some regards but lost out on too many RBs i thought id at least get a shot at one of the rookies with my 4th rounder but was left with Mendenhall/Bradshaw so i took Vereen.I could have had Gore in the first but no way was i turning down Thomas. One or two of the rookies step forward and im fine but anything less will be a issue.

Strange question but is there a android app that will alert you to player injuries.Like what you see in The League?
Be handy to get on it early in the morning as im up at 4am and would like to snap up talent unopposed.

"Two receivers to the left, Garcon to the right. Manning in the shotgun, puts Collie in motion. Looks in his direction...it's picked off! It's picked off! It's Tracy Porter again! He's runnin' free! He's gonna go all the way!

Re: Keeper league help

Papz you are right. The top tier go fairly high (Ray Rice for 63 last year) so Ridley at 36 is ok & Gore at 25 is good.

Thanks
