right now it stands at 6 keepers. 3 offense and 3 defense. was set at 8 which is way too many IMO.

next week i will pole if we should reduce it even more

Keepers are currently 8 - the option is not there to limit four on offense and four on defense, but we were, on honor system, to declare 4 on offense, 4 on defense...

Keepers date was to be set no closer than one day of draft...

There has never been a need to drop players as when the draft gets set, those players not designated a Keeper (K by their name) would go back into general population for draft as part of the subroutine of the Draft Program...

This way you could hold your cards close to the vest without revealing strategy; but I'll do it this season in the spirit of a level playing field as some of you already have...

If we drop down to under 6, don't understand the purpose then of having a Keepers League at all; it was suppose to give some continuity to teams, make trades more lasting/impactful, and shorten the very long draft we have...

I mean we're drafting ENTIRE teams, all positions, with the exception of offensive linemen (which seems strangely ironic considering the Saints' performance on Planet Houston last night!)...

I'd agree to go no lower than six (6) players with a maximum of four (4) players on one side of the ball PROVIDED/AND all teams must declare a max number of keepers - no short arming and gaining supplemental picks bullshinski...

If it's gonna be six keepers, you gotta declare six keepers, no less...

But my preference is eight...

ok see this is why i added more peps than needed last year. 8 is optimal

as for the keepers I think all that voted to up the keepers now see how bad it waters down the league and makes it incredibly hard to bring new blood in when a regular has to stop playing.

keepers will decrease and when i know we are all set with a few needed additional steady players i will push for a complete reset of the league and start a new.

I never voted to up keeper, have been in the league for 5 years, but when you have 8 teams out of 10 or 8 teams out of 12 making the playoffs it is ridic. Nearly every team makes it which means the regular season is all but useless so there are guys doing nothing with their lineups and fielding teams with multiple guys on a bye week and guys on IR. If people aren't going to be engaged then what's the point. Why would they anyway, you have to win 5 games to make the playoffs.

It should be hard to make the playoffs but instead we are at either 80 or 67% of the teams. That is just my feelings. If you're going to have 12 teams then 6 teams should make it with the first week being a bye for the two division winners. 8 or 10 teams should have only 4 teams make the playoffs. That is just my opin. People are certainly welcome to feel differently, but I don't feel like playing with guys who check out 3 weeks into the season and submit lineups with people on bye weeks and ir.

That's the problem with keeper leagues. They only work if you have the same people playing every year. Nobody wants to come into a league where most of the really elite talent is already spoken for. And I'm not trying to bash you guys' league, it's just the unfortunate reality. I thought about asking to join, because I'm in desperate need of a league to play in before it's too late. But when I saw how many keepers you all have I changed my mind.

All was good for many years then people dropped for various reasons and since then it has been a scramble the past 2 years to get it up and going again. that is the real issue.

so till we get a couple of people who stick we need to play the game with extreme flexibility.

As for the playoffs issue that rest squarely on my shoulders for screwing up the playoff settings. should have been two different playoff setups not just one.

Here's the thing about a Keeper's League, you're not playing for just that season...

Life was good when I had Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Jimmy Graham; I made trades my rookie year where I was the loser initially, took my lumps, even released good players (e.g. Dallas Clark top TE at time for rookie Jimmy Graham)...

Fast forward four years and rookie teams whine, complain and we blow everything up; wasn't happy, but I took it on the chin...

Last season, team struggling, I make some moves and now I have choices among Philip Rivers or David Carr, Thomas Rawls, Jordy Nelson, Brandin Cooks and Alshon Jeffery ; now we're gonna blow it up again for a rookie owner who may or may not stick around depending if he likes his roster or not?

Rookie owners who want to be in a Keeper League or just like an expansion team; you come in, makes some trades, make a few pick ups and develop your roster - you work for it!

Don't think we should hand a stud team to a rookie owner because he's a rookie and we want to make him feel happy about his team; again, you earn it!

If you know football and numbers, you can turn a poor team around...

I think your logic is flawed on that JP. It's nothing like an expansion franchise honestly. An expansion franchise not only has the chance to draft from the same pool as the rest of the league, they are also given the benefit of being able to pick through players that teams are forced to put up for grabs when an expansion team comes in. If memory serves me correctly it's 5 players per team.

I can understand your frustration with having to keep "blowing up" your team, but it's just not fair to new players to come in with little to no chance of getting top talent. Apparently you were forced into that very scenario when you joined, and you shouldn't have been, it's not right. It's not about handing a stud team to a new owner, it's about giving the new owner(s) the same chance as everyone else to draft a team that can be competitive. Why would anyone want to join a league where you know you're gonna have to take your lumps for a year or two before you have a real shot at contending? I wouldn't, and I consider myself pretty good at fantasy football. I won my former league last year and the year before. Which is why I no longer have a league to play in because the cry babies I played with are sick of getting beat, but that's another story.. my point is, even for an experienced player coming into your league it would still be unfair. Maybe you guys should think of suspending keepers until your have a group of players who will stick around. I would gladly join and gladly stay, but not with the current setup.

I have several good keepers, brees, Julio, . I have like 3 number 1 hideouts, but I'm saying we should limit them. 8x12 is 96 frigan players, that's a lot man

Agree with this in parts. They should habe a few keepers so tbey habe tradable assets though
Im in a lot of leagues and i enjoy the struggle with some dynasty teams taking over and slowly changing up the roster to get them contending. If you habe one or two tradable pieces you can with a bit of work and luck swings things around.

I did it the other year when my team aged,retired and just started declining i traded away my talent,traded up and down the draft board and ended up with 7 of the first 12 picks and 10 in the first two rounds.

Unfortunately i got sick that summer and ended up out the league and somebody traded away all my young talent for vets to win now

Id had Bortles,Mariota,Winston and still had Brady at QB.

Loads of young talent that in 2 years would have been great
