On January 26, 1837 President Andrew Jackson signed a bill declaring Michigan the 26th state of the union. In commemoration of this auspicious occasion and by the mere fact I'm probably not throwing a big birthday bash, I create this new group in celebration. Pure Michigan.

This group is for those who live in Michigan and follow the Saints. Having the 'NFL Package' is a plus , otherwise, suggestions on where you watch Saints games are encouraged. You don't have to turn in your Lions card, but it is about the Saints here. Fishing/hockey posts probably won't be discouraged that much either, but I guess staying on topic should be a priority.

As a former Michiganian (1998-2001) I am joining this group. I know a little about my former State and loved the people I knew there. I consider 2 people who were my neighbors as "best friends of all time" -- friendly, kind folk! I was often reminded of my home New Orleans while living there.

Yeah, we're Ok with that, '98-'01, those were some good years around here. I think you hit the nail-on-the-head when you talk about the similarities, there are many. There's a little creole/cajun place near me that serves authentic, Louisiana-style home-cooking and I love going in there. It is that good.

Yeah but the winter in 2000 was aweful. There were about 2 years when it was one blizzard after another.

I remember it snowed so much one day it collapsed the overhang leading out of my apartment complex. It was a mess.
