I really, really hate when a coach gets fired very early in the season. You have a guy thru training camp and preseason, you get the players that fit his system, and then 3% into the season he is gone.

In the NFL it would be the same as firing a guy after the opposing team returned the opening game, opening kick for a touch.
Fire the GM instead

Oh, geez! The guy takes you to the finals and gets you into the second round a couple of times and they fire him? This early in the season? What are they basing it on? Last season?

IDK, seems like a rash move to me. The team may respond and win a few games off the bat, but do you think Berube's gonna' make that big a difference? I don't.

He seems like a bit of an ass. All comments are 'they listen, they believe in the system, blah, blah, me, me, me

I know I told you I dropped my cable ... so now I get Flyer games on Sunday afternoons (NBC) pretty regularly. Don't always watch 'em, but yesterdays Flyers/Bruins match up is a classic, so I settled in to watch.

Saw Lecavalier get his 400th, . Nice goal, used the defenseman to screen the goalie (Rask) and fired a wicked wrister for the tally ... scored in the last 30 seconds to tie it up as well. Wasn't as physical as the Philadelphia/Boston games used to be, , but still a lot of good hockey.

Classic example of why I hate the shootout, though ... and maybe it only comes up when the team I want to win loses in the shootout ... but I'd much rather see them go to additional overtime periods with 4-on-4, 3-on-3 and even 2-on-2 if necessary. Or do it the International way, where you can use the same guy more than once in the shootout ... anything than what the NHL is doing now, IMO.

I hate the SO too. I'd actually rather see a tie.
When I was watching the game Sunday I was thinking that it was better than the best NCAABB game or any baseball game.
Vinnie got dropped to 4th line for a game or two- guess it woke him up a little. His shootout move was pretty weak, but he did save them a point
