Boudreau and Holmgren both had 'a cup of coffee" with the Jets, who then fed in to the Minnesota Fighting Saints. Those two weren't great, but WAY too good for the NAHL.
Two of the three Carlsons were Jets for a while. One made it to the WHA for a couple of years. Dave Hanson (with an O) was the third Hansen and namesake in the movie. He was the quintessential minor league goon and later played with Kenny Linesman with Birmingham in the WHA.
Slap Shot was written by the sister of one of the Jets...Dowd maybe?
