DON’T mention the FOUR to the Germans!
Having thumped six past Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Friday, they were set to bash Sweden as they raced into a 4-0 lead in Berlin.
But then incredibly FOUR goals in the last 28 minutes earned the Swedes a 4-4 DRAW.
Germany were coasting after Miroslav Klose’s double in the first 15 minutes put them 2-0 up. And what could possibly go wrong as Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil added further goals either side of the break?
A Swedes blitz, that is what.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled one back with a header before Mikael Lustig and Johan Elmander got them within touching distance.
And up popped Rasmus Elm three minutes into added time to leave the Germans red faced in front of their chancellor Angela Merkel.
