Well, I finally got off my butt and made this group.
I love the outdoors. I love hunting and fishing. I enjoy sitting and watching the greatest thing God created; the outdoors.
With hunting season upon us, I figured I would go into whitetail deer hunting. I just finished up our Bow season here in Mississippi. I took my first deer with a bow (a Doe). It was a great feeling. Kinda like the first time I took a deer. I will post pics of it, but I want to make sure with HALO that graphic photos are okay. I don't want to offend anyone.
Anyway, now with youth season and primative hunting here. I want to encourage you all to take your kids hunting or fishing. My best memories are of me and my grandfather fishing. He taught me and I passed that information on to my children. I got to experience the joy of watching my oldest daughter take her first deer. It is a great feeling to watch the smile explode on their face. My middle daughter will be going after her first deer this year and can't wait to see her happiness. Trust me, it's a better feeling than if you were to shoot a 200 class buck.
Make sure you children understand the safety of hunting, first and foremost. Then make them understand the reason for hunting. Making healthy deer herds, population control and most importantly....food. It's not about "the kill". It's about what all goes into it.
If anyone has any topic or question, feel free to fire away.
More to come and thanks for reading.
