A yellowfin tuna caught by John Petruescu in Mexican waters aboard the San Diego-based Excel is expected by the crew to become the largest yellowfin ever landed on rod and reel.
The Excel, which had been fishing at remote Hurricane Bank (960 miles southwest of San Diego), will arrive at Fisherman's Landing early Sunday morning and only then will the official weight be known.

What a fish! I watch that 'Tuna Wranglers' show on the Discovery Channel now and then & it amazes me how they catch these things. This one's a little bigger than any of the local crappie, perch, bluegill & walleye I chase
