Thanks! That's a pretty comprehensive list and something like I was looking for. I see a lot of stuff like this: 30,144 Total Servings 4-people 1-year Emergency Food Kit by Shelf Reliance and I think, "It's about more than just food". Plus, I gotta' figure the water supply is going to be compromised one-way-or-another, so all this dehydrated stuff doesn't appeal to me that much.

Yeah. This is an "Oh crap, I didn't even think about that", type of list.

And yes, the dehydrated food route really isn't the best main plan for food. I know a couple of folks that do the MRE thing also. But to feed a family of 4-5 is going to cost a lot of money and take up a lot of storage. I would say 25 to 50 boxes is a good plan for a back up.

Another good thing to keep on-hand is old Army cots. I keep enough for me, my wife and 3 kids. You just never know.
