I picked this song because I think about this kinda crap more than a normal person should, and, excluding the blues because blues is an emotion, I think this song is the best marriage of music and lyric I've ever heard.
What I mean is, if you read the words as purely poetry and then listened to the music without the words, you'd come away with the same emotion. It means something to me and something different to you and something different to someone else. I'ts razor sharp but it's melodic. It's descriptive but it's meaning is vague and relative. ...and I just really LOVE the Eagles... |
