34 years since Elvis died...

Tomorrow, August 16th, in 1977, Elvis Presley, the King of Rock N Roll, died.

Man 34 years. I was 8 and remember it like it was yesterday. My mom was crying in the kitchen, so I went in to ask her what was wrong. She picked me up and sat me on the counter and hugged me and said, "Elvis is dead". It was like somebody in our family died.

My grandpa played gigs with him at the Louisiana Hayride in the 50's. I grew up listening to his music and hearing stories about him.

All Hail The King Of Rock N Roll...

C'mon Man...

I remember his death as well. It was a horrible time.

'Bout ten years ago I made the trip to Graceland. 'Was 100% worth it. I came away an even BIGGER Elvis fan.

Rest In Peace, Elvis.

I remember going to Graceland too. What struck me was that on that stone wall that surrounds the home, every stone, EVERY ONE OF THEM, had been written on by a fan. I wonder if that's still the case or if they called it graffiti and cleaned it up? I thought it was pretty cool personally.

My gramps played with him a few times as I said. He always said he was just a good 'ole boy...kinda shy really. An amazing entertainer to the very end. I wish he was still around to teach these young punks how it's done. LOL

C'mon Man...
