Dude, I'm telling you, I've seen him like 10 times in concert at various venues... George Porter Jr is a GENIUS!

Other musicians come just to hear him play for inspiration to write new music. Every concert he plays is a separate master piece.

I saw him play once in Baton Rouge in the 90's at the Varsity Theater. He made this transition from one song to the next with this fast paced repetitive beat and a light show.

We called it "the warp tunnel" because it was like everyone was in hypnosis with flashing lights in our eyes and him playing the same key on base for like 2 minutes.

He transitioned with this effect from the end of "Cissy Strut" to the beginning of "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley"

It was the COOLEST THINK I EVER SAW SOBER IN MY LIFE!!!!

That was probably an easy transition for him since he was in on the original recording of that song. Robert Palmer recorded it in NO with The Meters backing him. But you probably already knew that!
