No. Dah. Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest voices in rock history. Kanye West, on the other hand, is a legend in his own mind.

He had what I'd consider the perfect R&R voice.

My personal preference is a more raspy type like a young Steven Tyler, but Mercury was absolute perfection.

You know what I found neat? The crowd actually sung it right even though Kayne was a tone deaf disgrace. And many of the people in the crowd weren't even born or were babies when BH was released or had the Wayne's World resurgence. Shows you the staying power of Queen.

He was doing it as a tribute. Kanye West is most certainly a legend in his genre as well as being a legend in pop culture. He's one of the best artist of our generation. He pushed Hip Hop to new boundaries by adding elements of all music. Whether he was sampling 60's and 70's classics to create "soul beats", or when he merged sounds with Daft Punk, he's definitely been legendary. Through the Wire, All Falls Down, Jesus Walks, Gold Digger, Stronger, Can't Tell Me Nothin', Touch the Sky, Diamonds Are Forever, Heard Em Say, Heartless, Amazing, Runaway, Power, All Of the Lights, etc. His list of hits is extraordinare. His amount of Grammy Awards is close to being the most of all time, which is even more impressive because of his genre. Don't discredit Kanye West.

Rez. Forgive me for sounding like my parents did back in the 60's & 70's when I was listening CCR, ZZ Top, The Stones, Allman Brothers, CSNY, etc. Music is almost always crap to those from prior generations. That said, I actually like quite a bit of my kid's music.

I have two big issues with KW.
1-KW has an opinion of himself that is far greater that his music deserves. His music may be good for those who like it, but it's not legendary. He is not Dylan, McCartney, Lennon, JT, CCR, Joe Cocker, Clapton, Van Morrison, Jim Morrison, Michael Jackson, Prince, Ray Charles, Aretha, Hendrix, etc. etc. etc. People still listen to their music 50 years on. The music has crossed generations and genres. Musicians are still recording their songs today. That is what legends are made of. I can't see KW's music being played in 2030 much less 2060.
2- The second issue I have with KW is he is married to "The Kim". Man, I can't see why the hell the world gives one flying "F" about that "B". Look at Yahoo news and there is a story or two about "The Kardashians" every day.

I'm sure listening to her and her whining mom is why Bruce decided to cut his tool off. I'd probably do the same thing.

Look, he can't sing at all. Freddy could sing almost all to the floor. That is the joke. It's not anything more than that.

Re: Kayne sitdown boy

It is hard to have any appreciation for him or his music, not because of the music itself, his music is well liked, played, and purchased, it does deserve it whether we older guys like it or not. But, HE, himself, as a person, makes it almost impossible to "like" anything he is associated with. I agree with dam1953 also, add Kim into the mix and he's twice as irritating.
