Penn St. Pro Day
Penn State
DT Jared Odrick -- His 40 time improved from 5.03 at the combine to the low-4.9 range at his pro day, and Odrick showed good lateral mobility and overall agility as well. He has the versatility to play inside in a 4-3 scheme or as a 5-technique in a 3-4, and the Penn State coaches say he is at the same time the toughest and funniest player on the team. With his locker room contributions and obvious skills on the field Odrick is a solid late-first rounder. OLB Navorro Bowman -- After a disappointing 40 time of 4.72 at the combine Bowman answered some questions with a 4.61 during pro day workouts. And after watching him on film it came as no surprise when Bowman showed good change-of-direction skills and flipped his hips quickly when dropping into coverage zones. Bowman is an undersized prospect who will play on the weakside where he will be covered up and allowed to run in space, which suits his game. He's a potential first-round talent but off-field baggage is hurting his stock and Bowman looks like a mid-to-late second-rounder at this point. ILB Sean Lee -- Improving his 40 time from 4.74 at the combine to the high 4.5s will help Lee, and while he is not as fluid as Bowman he plays with good balance, always has his feet under him and catches the ball well. Lee is a different player than Bowman, more of a downhill run stopper who can take on blocks, and thanks to his smarts and instincts Lee is working his way into second round consideration. He has the talent of a first-rounder but multiple knee injuries are hurting his stock, though we think Lee can become a good NFL starter if he remains healthy. OLB Josh Hull -- Hall is a limited athlete and lacks ideal explosiveness, but he is a reliable tackler in the box and breaks down well in the open field. He also ran in the low 4.7s on campus after posting a 4.91 at the combine. Hall is not as explosive at Lee at the point of attack but Hall does have enough skills and the right attitude and aggressiveness to contribute on special teams and find his way onto a roster as a late-round pick. QB Daryll Clark -- He didn't run at the combine because of a hamstring injury but Clark put up a 4.61 at his pro day, and while he threw the ball well it's important to remember that it was in a shorts and t-shirt throwing against air. We still see too many problems with Clark's accuracy, footwork and field vision to make him anything more than a fringe draft pick and developmental project as a quarterback, but he should find his way into a camp and he has the speed and athleticism to make a position change if necessary. |

Re: Penn St. Pro Day
If we somehow get Odrick and Bowman that would be superior!

Re: Penn St. Pro Day
i wouldnt object to it
not a huge fan of bowman but he is a 2nd round LB for a reason could definitly help us right off the bat odrick might be better suited for the 3-tech which is where ellis played still would rather have somebody slightly fatter around 320 playing next to ellis but im sure we could make due with 2 stud 3-techs lol |

Re: Penn St. Pro Day
Odrick would start day one next to Ellis and Bowman would start day one over Shanle IMHO. Sam linebacker and DE may be higher on the food chain than DT and Will however.

Re: Penn St. Pro Day
I'd love to get Odrick. I think him and Ellis could be a great pair. We wouldn't have the big stuffer in there but we would have quicker guys that moves easier.
