Iowa/Virginia/Vandy/Tulane Pro Day

Iowa OT Bryan Bulaga -- Bulaga confirmed his status as a top-10 pick with his pro day showing. He put up 27 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press -- one more than at the combine -- and looked good during position drills. While it's unlikely he will supplant Oklahoma State's Russell Okung as the top tackle on our board, Bulaga has put himself in excellent position to hold off Oklahoma's Trent Williams for the No. 2 spot.

Virginia CB Chris Cook -- At 6-foot-2 and 212 pounds, Cook impressed us during Senior Bowl week with his fluid hips and quick feet. He continued to turn heads at the combine with a strong performance that included an impressive 40-yard dash time of 4.46 seconds. His stock shot up and he's now in the conversion about the late-second round.

Unfortunately, he's jeopardized some of that progress with a disappointing showing at Virginia's pro day. Cook appeared to be going through the motions and looked listless throughout the workout. That's not good considering there are concerns about his work ethic after Cook missed the entire 2008 season for academic reasons.

Iowa CB Amari Spievey -- Spievey is also a fringe second-round corner who faces some questions. He was a juco transfer and played only one season at Iowa, so some scouts have questions about his overall body of work.

Spievey had a chance to distance himself from Cook with a good workout but failed to capitalize. He turned in a solid-but-unspectacular performance, running the 40 in the low-4.5 range after posting a 4.52 at the combine.

Tulane WR Jeremy Williams -- After posting a 40 time of 4.64 at the combine Williams ran in the low 4.5s during workouts. That's not fast enough to make him a legitimate vertical threat in the NFL but it does provide some damage control after the combine.

More importantly, Williams looked crisp and snatched the ball out of the air with his 10-inch hands during position drills. Don't be surprised if he comes off the board early in the fourth round.

Vanderbilt CB Myron Lewis -- Lewis showed off his big (9⅝-inches) hands and caught the ball well during position drills. He also ran the short shuttle in the low 4.2s and the three-cone drill in the low 6.9s, somewhat pedestrian numbers for a corner but acceptable for a 6-1⅝, 203-pounder who projects as a Cover 2 corner.

Lewis has shown more than enough range to excel in that scheme and becomes an even better fit when you throw in his willingness to play the run. He will be an attractive option for a Cover 2 team in the late-fourth or early-fifth round.
