Chargers look to hit big with five of first 89 picks in draft
General manager A.J. Smith has some work to do in the NFL Draft after his Chargers shockingly flamed out and missed the playoffs for the first time in five years. The pressure is on for Smith to hit a home run, or at the very least, a booming triple. He'll have five chances in the first 89 picks alone to find an impact player or two.

Raiders optimistic about draft despite no first-round pick
From JaMarcus Russell to Darrius Heyward-Bey to Derrick Gibson, the Raiders have had a run of first-round picks who have provided little production for the team. They don't have to worry about that in 2011 ... the team doesn't have a pick.

League-record 25 players to attend NFL draft at Radio City
A record 25 players are scheduled to attend the 2011 NFL Draft. The previous high was last year, when 17 prospects were on hand at Radio City for the celebration of the 75th NFL Draft, the first-ever in primetime.

Redskins might not have enough draft picks to fill holes
The Washington Redskins have picks in the first and second rounds (Nos. 10 and 41 overall) of the NFL draft, then aren't scheduled to be on the board again until the 144th overall selection in Round 5. That could be a big problem.
