Seem's like I remember years ago rumors were swirling about the Cowboys trying to entice Sean back to Texas.
I think some were talking about Chucky coming here. For our sake Karma was good to us. |

Re: Jon Gruden tells staff he will resign
I'm sure Chucky is no angel, but this doesn't sit right with me. You would think all the time Chucky spent working with ESPN and the sports media plus the fact that his apology came pretty quick and seemed like a decent one would have bought him some consideration. In a saner world, it would seem like a 2-4 game suspension would have been enough of a reprimand.
Pretty sick sign how quick stones get cast and Schefter gets his rabid sick pleasure reporting on yet another manufactured scandal. They were so quick to turn him into the NFL's Donald Sterling, yet Sterling's comments were audio not private emails and were much more inflammatory as I remember. I don't think Chucky being a keyboard warrior should mean his instant removal, and let's face it, at this point almost all of us have felt or wrote far worse things about NFLPA Smith and Goodell - they are both truly stooges. I do get that Gruden did not want "Chuckygate", but I wish he'd fought for himself a little longer too. Doesn't set a good precedent. |
Re: Jon Gruden tells staff he will resign
Listening to ESPN on my way to work this morning, and one of the guys on the Keyshawn, JWill and Max show, I'm pretty sure it was JWill, said that he thought it looked like they were trying to take Gruden down.
Interesting observation. They also mentioned this all came out as part of the investigation into WFT. Like Gruden was collateral damage. |
Re: Jon Gruden tells staff he will resign
I wonder if the estate of Bob Cummins and Harvey Lembeck will sue Urban Mayer over the use of "The Finger"?
Watch 1963's Beach Party. You'll understand. |

Just think about it - while investigating past actions of Team A, the NFL finds materials about active coach of Team B and leaks those details to the NY Times while investigation is still in progress. I would be appalled if I was the Raiders owner or GM. This may be the sickest thing Goodell has done in quite some time. |
Re: Jon Gruden tells staff he will resign
When Gruden worked as a commentator for ESPN, he called Goodell a “faggo-t and an “anti football pus-sy”
— among other insults — in emails to former Washington Football Team president Bruce Allen, the New York Times reported Monday. Ya think that may have sealed Chucky's fate. That's some Bad Karma.. |

In all sincerity there's no excuse for what he said about the dudes lips. Stupid to put it in an email but just even thinking like that where it would blurt out is awful.
It is unsavory and he wasnt 15 or 20, he is supposed to be at a point in his life where you grow up. I don't even understand that ****e. His stuff about the NFL applying pressure for the homo drafting, we all know that is accurate. Publicity stunt 101. Amazing how we are still pretending taking it in the rectum and telling the whole world is somehow amazing. So stupid the fakeness of our entire society. |

I'll be honest, I haven't read any of Gruden's emails but removing him from the Buccaneers Ring-of-Honor seems silly. |

If you are perceived as a threat you must be cancelled, deleted, torn down, removed from existence, stricken from the record, never to be seen or heard from again otherwise you may offend or threaten again. Pages torn. Monuments revoked. Removed from the list as if you never existed. Most people will have to google hatshepsut is my guess. Not so ironic really... What Gruden said is wrong and not at all unexpected frankly. That's who he is. 15 years ago he'd lose his job. And he should. Today he'll be treated like a queen. |
Re: Jon Gruden tells staff he will resign
You wonder how Sean's taking this whole Gruden turn of events.
They did coach together in Philly early on and seemed to have remained friends over the years. |

Good article. Mentions how the league got exactly what they wanted out of this whole situation. |
Re: Jon Gruden tells staff he will resign
This ain’t over. NFLPA is demanding all 650,000 e-mails investigated be released. There is another “smoking gun” there somewhere. Since they were friends, Gruden likely sent an e-mail to Payton sometime ago that will be used to come after him. Just wait for it.

But I suspect there are a lot of folks within the League that are sweating it out. |

The Saints should contact Hillary C. to learn about Bleach-bit and how to be rid of emails that could cast them in a poor light. |
Re: Jon Gruden tells staff he will resign
Fingers crossed then that Loomis or Payton weren't real tight with Bruce Allen or other Washington staffers.

Personal correspondence can't be touched by the NFL (ie. gmail from Sean to Gruden's personal AOL account). The supposed 650,000 emails (or however many) in which the Gruden statements were found are NFL related sources and would probably include all of the Saints emails turned over in the Catholic Diocese case. |

And by the way, he didn't say he hoped for anything bad. Not ever. He was concerned that, you know, who knows where this rabbit hole goes? That's a perfectly reasonable reaction that several other members posting in this very thread underscored. Right or wrong is ten thousand percent not important. It is his opinion. And you attacked him. You twisted his comment and then you attacked him. Pretty much. Because now what? You used to be an attorney? Paralegal? Go head. Let's hear how you know so much about how all this stuff goes. Tell us all what the meaning of "is" is... The latest is you have turned the thread into an argument and the argument within the thread into a debate over the difference between "assume" and "imply". Something completely dumb. Again. You did that. Good job! |
