Why I Don't Attend Games In California

I know this happens elsewhere, but it happens out here a LOT. It was actually worse at Whiner games than the Raiders when there were in Oakland. These people out here y'all...

INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- A San Francisco 49ers fan is in a medically induced coma after he was punched during a parking lot confrontation with an apparent Los Angeles Rams fan at Sunday's NFC Championship Game, the mayor of Inglewood said Thursday.

Daniel Luna, 40, remained hospitalized after the fight while police sought his attacker based on a blurry video and the license plate of a car, Mayor James T. Butts Jr. said at a news conference.

Luna, who owns a restaurant in Oakland, was mingling in a crowd of about 16 people at SoFi Stadium, most of them wearing what appeared to be 49ers jerseys, when he pushed a man wearing a Rams jersey from behind, Butts said after viewing the video.

Before that, Butts said, "There didn't seem to be any hostilities."

When Luna turned to walk away, the man pushed Luna back, the mayor said. When Luna turned, the man punched him in the mouth, causing Luna to fall to the ground and hit the back of his head, Butts said, estimating that the encounter lasted less than five seconds.

Luna was found bleeding in the parking lot about half an hour into Sunday's game, according to The LA Times.

Going to Dodgers/Giants games is taking a big risk. Experienced it first hand. I felt safer walking around Yankee Stadium with a Mets hat than I did at Dodger/Giant or Raider/Niner games with a blank Tshirt.

I've gone to a few Baseball games out here. I DO NOT wear any Braves gear. It really takes away from the fun of it all - idiots are empowered out here...maybe in other places too. I'm absolutely biased so there's that but I saw this story this morning and you know it's just another instance of idiots being idiots. I'll just stay home, save money, and stay out of hospital.

Wow, this is sad.

Not sure if any of you guys follow LaLiga (Euro-Pro Soccer) but it gets ugly like this with fans far too often.

But as far as NFL fans go, I still stand behind Philly as the worst. They are downright vicious and scary. No way I'd have on another team's jersey there.

In La Liga those Spaniards take their Soccer seriously..
Even worse in South America where they normally mug the Refs.

As for Philadelphia I wouldn't go back there without armed Bodyguards.
At a game a few years ago a few of us Who-Dats didn't think we were getting out of there in one piece.
And that was no joke, scariest situation I have ever been in.

I've had plenty of Raiders fans approach me on the street when I'm wearing my Brees jersey. The Whiner fans just glare. When I moved out here I expected the opposite. Raiders fans are passionate. Whiner fans are fair-weather jerks.

I lived in Colombia during the 80s. Talk about “passionate” fans. They murdered their own goaltender back in the 90s for losing to the USA in a FIFA match.

I’ve heard bears fans are pretty bad too but Philly is in a league all it’s own
