Lions Season Already Over?

NFL suspends five players, including four Lions, for violating gambling policy

Quote:

The NFL is suspending five players, including four from the Detroit Lions, for violating the league's gambling policy, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Friday.

Lions wide receivers Jameson Williams and Stanley Berryhill each face six-game bans, per Rapoport, while wideout Quintez Cephus and defensive back C.J. Moore are suspended indefinitely.

Washington Commanders pass rusher Shaka Toney also is suspended indefinitely, per Rapoport.

Cephus and Moore have been released by the Lions, the team announced.

Wait, what?!

Did they miss the Calvin Ridley memo??

Well, at least the league did them a solid by doing this before the draft.

Goodness, gracious.

I am fairness... and with all due utmost respect, what else is there to do in Detroit?

I've been to Dearborn, right next door, where my lovely wife ran and completed a marathon. Michigan is really a nice state, expecially if you go more north and around the lake areas. But it gets cold AF. The local beers are righteous and flavorful.

Michiganders are some of the coolest folks I've met. In some respects, they remind me of Loosiana peoples.

I can relate. Not a lot to do in a cold, dark town.

Maybe if SloMotion stops in he could tell us...

There may be more players who have gambled but players like Ridley among those Lions and Commander players got caught.

Apparently Williams and Berryhill could have placed bets without an issue had they been away from NFL properties because it was on college games, not the NFL. Had they placed the bets from their easy chairs at home there wouldn't have been a problem.

That's screwed up.
