I think many other people could have made the owners as much money as Go-to-hell has as commissioner. It’s an exciting game with elite athletes. Others may have done better.

Well then let me also add this. He is their bad guy. When the owners want something done that fans won't like, Roger is there to be the dark side of the force and take all the blame.

For example, things like suspensions. If the owners were actually unhappy with what he is doing, then he would lose his job. He hasn't, so at least privately, they are happy with Roger.

I'll agree to that. If this thing with Gruden ends up costing them money, Roger could very well get some heat for it. How much remains to be seen.
