David Tepper Fires Frank Reich
For the second straight season, Carolina fires their head coach mid season.
I'm not saying its the right approach just that we seem to be one of the only bad teams complacent with complacency. |

Re: David Tepper Fires Frank Reich
1-10 is a really bad record. Frank Reich had winning teams 3 of 5 seasons in Indy despite a meddling owner, mediocre roster, and QB carousel, so I see the potential they saw. But when that potential turns to 1-10, you have to wonder if you've hired a broken man.

I'd wager Tepper is the more "broken" of the two

Re: David Tepper Fires Frank Reich
Reich wanted to draft CJ Stroud and Tepper took Bryce Young.

Re: David Tepper Fires Frank Reich
He may be. I can't blame Carolina for drafting the wrong QB. It's a crapshoot. Hindsight is 20/20. What they did that was stupid was trading up all the draft picks to get the QB, when honestly Will Levis looks just as good. The thing is that historically 1st round QBs are a bit more successful, but the vast majority of the successful 1st round Pick QBs are not top-3-overall picks. And many successful QBs in the NFL are 2nd round or later. We can kind of predict who has the best shot to succeeed with which QBs are top-12-overall or so, but the recent track record for predicting who is a sure thing and deserved to go top-3 is garbage. Guys like Mahomes, Allen, and Hebert were picked later in the 1st round not right at the top of the draft. Guys like Hurts, Jackson, Prescott, Cousins, and Purdy were picked much later. Yet this Tepper idiot thinks 'you get what you pay for' and 'I'm going to swing the big dick and make it rain' and he makes the blockbuster move for Young. That was the stupid thing, the trade up. It's never predictable enough to be worth that price, and the pressure it puts on the young player and the supporting cast it deprives him of both and make the plan more destined to fail. Young is just another example like Lance, Wilson, Mayfield, etc. The Panthers should have just stood pat and if they QB didn't come to them, take a shot in the 2nd round or next year, but that takes patience and realizing your own limitations.
