I actually think the refs are a lot better than they were 25 years ago, but all of the technical innovations in broadcasting have made their calls, or non-calls, more glaring. This is not to say that incompetence does not exist, because it surely does, but as long as they remain part-timers that isn't going to change.

How would a "Full Time Official" made a difference in the 2019 NFCCCG? The "missed" call on the Rams for pass interference was a deliberate "See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil" They did what they were INSTRUCTED to do. The NFL had no comment for 10 days after that game. Control of the officials equals control of the "GAME". The NFL is a self admitted Sports / Entertainment product spelled $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ For Don Mclean the music died in 1959.
