N/S: SD fans boo Rivers ...want Marty-ball again
Norv Turner is in hot water; it's gettin' ugly, folks. I'm hoping that the Saints turn in a great performance this Sunday (...we don't need what is described in the article below): Link: Page Not Found - AOL Sports PS: Not that it matters to anyone else, but the Chargers knocked me (and several others) out of Survivor Bowl. No sympathy (I know), because many of you dropped off by upsets last week. |

Chargers are a bad team
The Chargers are a bad team right now. And I'm loving every minute of it. Don't get me wrong... I like the Chargers, but AJ Smith is getting everything that was due to him for the way he's treated players and coaches. Norv Turner's name is going to get drug thru the mud by the media and the fans, but I'd blame this squarely on AJ Smith.
The Chargers will probably come back and beat KC only because they are also a bad team... but the fact remains... SD looks terrible. |

Was Eli right
Did Archie and Eli take one look at the management of this franchise, starting with ownership, and conclude that incompetence (Spanos) and arrogance (Smith) were a disaster waiting to happen?
The NY Giants, with a roster that I think can safely say is inferior to the Chargers, are 2-2....under Tom Coughlin. Eli is playing well, carrying the offense with leadership, poise and good decisions. Who told the Mannings in 2004 to shun the Chargers? Somebody under AJ who saw this all coming? __________________ |

Fire Norv or AJ Smith
I cannot believe what I am seeing on the field. The playcalling is mundane and the game management is terrible. Why weren't the timeouts used in the first half right before halftime? They could've gone for a touchdown instead of settling for a field goal. Norv and Cottrell have to be the worst coaches in Chargers history. Norv Turner and Cottrell have absolutely no clue on how to run this team. They are way too passive during practice, do not get this team prepared for the games, and do not make the necessary adjustments after halftime. Does this guy have any emotion? Does he care if they win or lose? Does he know that the preseason is over? Does he know that there are only 16 games in the season? Do they study their opponents to see where they're vulnerable?
I've seen enough in the first 4 games to know that we need to FIRE NORV TURNER AND COTTRELL AND PROMOTE RIVERA AND PAGANO. Ok I'll Stop |

Re: SD Chargers
I merged all 4 SD Chargers threads into this one. I thought 4 separate Chargers threads on a Saints message board was a little excessive, besides it's not a good sign when we have to spend all our time tearing down another team because we ourselves do not have much to cheer about.

Re: SD Chargers
What is up with Charger talk in this forum? Anyway, Norv Turner has almost no chance at success with this team. First of all, look at his overall win/lose record over the course of his coaching career. Then, factor in that the Chargers lost both offensive and defensive coordinators is another blow. LT crying like a baby does not help either. Anyway, very bad situation for the Super Chargers. Yes, their GM is A.J. Smith looks horrible calling the shots. But before throwing A.J. Smith under the bus, didn't Bethard and Butler also have issues with this team? Perhaps ownership has something to do with this situation?

Re: SD Chargers
Another note, horrible move by getting rid of a coach after a 14-2 season, regardless of what may have happened in the playoffs. GO MARTY!!!
