a show of hands, how many would have liked to see tapes?

this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; while off subject, this was pushed under the rug when it happened, but does affect all teams somehow, someway.....you really have to wonder and i really would like to know if a superbowl or more was acheived by this.....very interesting ...

Re: a show of hands, how many would have liked to see tapes?

Look taping has always been used. If you think the coaches do not try to steal signals using old game tapes you have been living in lala land to long. Players always looking for signals from players to get the upper edge for years. Thats part of the game. So do coaches.
As for the destroying them who really knows. But the move is to save face for the league and put the end of the story right there. I am wondering if some over zealous flunkie copied them and plans on selling them at a later time.
To me I could care less. The offense has radios and so should the defense. It is only fair.

Re: a show of hands, how many would have liked to see tapes?

Based on what we know, I don't see an issue with destroying the tapes. If the Patriots had spyed on the Saints, and there was visable information on those tapes about our play signals, then I wouldn't want every Tom Dick and Harry looking at the tapes.

But then again If you had told me a year ago that half of pro baseball was doing steriods, I wouldn't have believed that either.

I still think there was something else on those tapes…
I don’t think the Patriots were merely trying to steal signals, but I think that they were transmitting the calls as they happened to their coordinators. The camera in use was connected to something, and the camera man could’ve easily zoomed in on the signal caller on the sideline, transmitting both sound and video to the Pats’ sideline.

Every other sport that I know of.... if you cheat.... you forfeit. That's all. End of story.

As far as I'm concerned, the Patriots are a very very good team - that's been caught intentionally cheating twice, once this year, and once last year. That's just the times we know of. So in my book:

1 - they already have a loss on their books this year (forfeit to the Jets)
2 - they have an additional loss on last year's books (forfeit to the Packers)

Don't agree with me? Come on over to my house, and try cheating at some poker. Then see how you get treated (i.e., at the hospital).

can anyone help me id this tune? it goes thwap thwap boom tch boom tch boom tch.

Baseball does it all the time. Basketball does it all the time. It is part of sports. The main point is the defense should have radios too. End of problem. Then there will be people trying to steal the signal. Signal stealing is part of sports. it has been brought to a new level.
