this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; well...i think we're set, but if he actually got it together and wanted to win, he could definitely come here and do some damage. i think he'd turn it around real fast with a winning team. your thoughts? Johnson's release ...

Not enough carries to keep him happy... he's a "me" guy.

Re: Larry Johnson cut...hmm
At least talent wise, he seems like a perfect fit for the Saints. Hard to go wrong with a 230 RB with speed who can catch passes. To me, he would be too much of a risk at this point. With the way Thomas and Bell are playing and neither seems to be greedy, I wouldn't see this as an ideal chemistry fit. Yes, if someone were to get injured, then maybe take a shot at him. I agree that his attitude could probably be better on a winning team. I just don't know about this one. The Saints are pretty loaded right now at RB, so...

I need someone to sweep the warehouse. He might be a good candidate if he gets his act together.

NO WAY!!! We have been building a great team with smart team-first guys on it and we have no business in adding that crackhead to the mix. If we would need somebody at the RB position let me just remind you that #26 is still not signed by anybody.

Re: Larry Johnson cut...hmm
we need a solid kicker the way I see the chatboxes light up with every FG attempt online...
the last thing we need is another RB, especially one past the plateau...We would've gotten Sean (Shaun?, whatevs) Alexander if that were the case. |

Re: Larry Johnson cut...hmm
I wouldn't sign that homophobe ... Saints need another defensive tackle a lot more then another running back, besides Bell is on the team and runs with the twice the aggression

But the rest of your analysis is 100% accurate. Right now, he's no better than Herb Donaldson. |
