AFC versus NFC: AFC Dominates Superbowls
In championships for the past decade, the AFC has been the dominate conference. We all know this. Look at the the Pats and the Steelers. They have won five, out of the past ten superbowls. Throw in the Colts for one more in the 2000's, and the Bucs, the Giants, as the only two teams to win a superbowl for the NFC.
In the 80s, and 90s, the NFC dominated, with the 49ers, and the cowboys, so I guess the question is, is it time for the NFC to take over again? The 70s belonged to the steelers, and the raiders, so to me, it seems like its time for it to happen. Will the Saints be set up, to be one of those teams, to take it back? Just a thought. |

The Saints should control the NFC South for the several years. But in answer to your question I think it's time for the pendulum to swing back to the NFC.

Re: AFC versus NFC: AFC Dominates Superbowls
No rhyme or reason for domination to fluctuate between AFC and NFC.
And don't think that NFC will necessarily start domination soon. As much as I see seemingly strong NFC teams coming through; Saints, Vikings to name 2, I also see the everlasting Colts (winniest team of any decade who don't look like losing much anytime soon) and the rising Chargers. If you are looking at this year only, I say pick-em if Saints or Vikings meet Colts or Chargers. If you are looking longer term, AFC - Colts will hang in there, Chargers, Bengals look on the rise, Sure Titans will come back. And them yucky Patriots. That is a lot for NFC to contend with. |

Re: AFC versus NFC: AFC Dominates Superbowls
considering each franchise's age you cant expect the NFC to be as good as the AFC througout history
the NFC is collectively just a younger conference and while the AFC was building championship teams.......the NFC was just concerned with building teams |
