Mawae puzzled by no offers
 

Kevin Mawae is still out of work and the president of the NFL Players Association revisited the idea Wednesday that it's more than his age holding him back.
"I am unemployed and hoping someone will call," Mawae, 39, told "3 Hour Lunch" on 104.5 in Nashville. "It's kind of befuddling to me that I just came off my eighth Pro Bowl and a 16-game season and I can't get one phone call.

I went to HS with Kevin. He is a stand up guy. I hope he isn't being shut out because of his position with the player's union. That would be pretty damn sad if it were true.

He's too old right?..i mean thats what most say about Sharper..and he's what....34...???

Mawae is 39. Add to that, no one is sure what's going to happen come 2011. He may be able to get a 1-year deal closer to training camp or preseason, but I doubt anyone is going to call before that.
