Vick Tabbed as #1
So Michael Vick has been given the job in Philly. I can't say I'm surprised, and I'd bet the rest of the team is excited about the decision too.
As a big dog lover, I was ready to have Vick put away for as long as the law would allow...and then another few years. I completely detest what he did, why he did it, and the excuses he made after the fact. This man took intelligent animals and trained them to kill each other, and when they didn't meet his expectations, he killed them by hand in the most gruesome ways imaginable. His actions were inexcusable in my humble opinion, and I'm not sure I could ever forgive him. Not that he cares. However, I recognize that society made its decision on Vick, and while I disagree with the length of his punishment, he did his time and we (I) must accept that. He's been essentially invisible in his two-year retirement from prison, and as far as I am aware he hasn't reverted to his old ways of killing man's best friends. I have to admit I'm happy for him. I can only imagine how he feels, and whether he is a rehabilitated abuser of animals or not, his journey back couldn't have been a very happy time. One thing is for sure. The balance of power may not have shifted in the East, but the ground is definitely moving. It's going to be fun watching teams try to deal with everything Vick brings to the game. I can't help but wonder if The Falcons would trade Mattty "Ice" (that's the most ignorant nickname I've ever heard) to Philly to get Vick back. |
C'mon Man...
