The two words in bold type are the operative words in this statement. Even before the dog scandal, Vick was a RB in a QB's body. He's always had a cannon for an arm, but he never had the head to match it.....until this year. He finally harnessed all of his talent and is having the best year of his career. It doesn't hurt that he has some nice talent at the skill positions surrounding him, but he has learned what to do with all their talent and his own. Can he keep up this pace the rest of the season? The Magic 8 Ball says "Outlook looks good". Will he be able to keep it up next season? That remains to be seen. This year, however, he's top "dog". :p

As for Vick, he sure looks great this season, but we still have HALF the season left to play.

HMMM I dunno about that. The Rams went 2-10 with Has at interim coach and I remember they lost 10 in a row, some of the loses were major blowout drubbings.

You think they Rams should have kept him as HC? I think as an interim coach you have to pull at least a close to .500 record to be considered for hire.

I think to get two wins out of that team was great coaching. The only player on that team worth anything was Stephen Jackson.I don't think Bill Walsh,Vince Lombardi,Jimmy Johnson,Sean Peyton,or any other coach could have gotten more than two wins out of that team.

He should not be in the NFL. He should have not been allowed back.
Playing football for a living , THE FEW YEARS ONE CAN DO SO is not a right, but a PRIVILEGE.

We'll we are a country that forgives after they serve their time for their wrong "OR theoretically forgive" for that matter sometimes people pick who they want to forgive for certain things..
The man's done his time, he's given public service as ordered by the courts, paid his due's, unless you want to have him hung for his crimes i think once he's done all he's had to do for his crimes he should be free to once again use his craft, if a company be it "NFL, Construction yard, Walmart etc" wants to hire him to help themselves better their own franchise, business or corporation they have the right hire and pay him for his services they think he's worth and he has the right to earn it.

No one was required to hire Vick, they came to him because they saw some use left in him, we gotta have that in mind when we think he's getting off easy.

Well said. A buddy and I were discussing Michael Vick last night, and we came to a conclusion. The majority of sports fans have a short-term memory about a player's wrongdoings after a couple of years, especially when they have incredible seasons on the field or court. Ray Lewis, Kobe Bryant, Pete Rose, just to name a few. Winning or sympathy seem to give people a slight case of amnesia. It's not that we completely forget what they did in their past, but for many of us, it sure isn't the first thing we think of in the present.

Choupique 11-18-2010 03:36 AM

I'm not one to jump on a bandwagon.

How many Super Bowl rings does Vick have?

Slow down folks, would be my suggestion. If Vick pulls off what Marino did, get back to us.

SaintPauly 11-18-2010 03:55 AM

The Jets, Packers, and Titans, defensively, all ranked in the top 15 against the pass defensively. What do these teams have to do with Vick? They are 3 of the 4 teams he struggled against, and lost too. Now, look at the defensive ranks, of the teams that he has played well against... We already know that Washington, was ranked 31st, going into monday nights game. Indy's secondary, is a patchwork of journeyman DBs, and he didn't really light it up on them either. Is he playing good ball, based on the level of the defenses he's gone up against? Yes, he is. But MVP's do this against the top defenses as well. I have seen nothing that Vick has done, to make me think he's any better, than he was in his prime, in Atlanta. To make this post as specific as I can, am I scared of Vick against our number one ranked pass defense? Not in the least.

That page issue you posted is because moderators remove posts but they stay in the thread where we can not see them...

I used to love these forums but as of late (past few weeks) the moderators are getting heavy handed and removing posts and entire threads... This is a bit much for me.

There were pages about PT that are now gone.

BTW...our all pro qb has problems with 3-4 defenses.

l gotta say it here, are you SURE you are a Saints fan? You seem to give props to every other team in the league, except your own. I mean, I think this is a legitimate question based on your past posts.

Vick has looked good, against SUBPAR competition. He has struggled, against top tier defenses. And rust? It's not like he just got off the transfer bus, got unshackled, and started playing. He played for the Eagles last year too, I do believe.

Heavy handed? Are you kidding me? This is one of the most lienient and least moderated boards out there. If people were to stick to the topic, not do a complete 180, and leave out the personal attacks on one another(which is allowed in the appropriate place on these boards, then we wouldn't have to worry about missing threads or post.

Since the beginning of June, there's been a whooping 2 Saints threads that was moved into the trash bin. You got that? 2. One on Pierre Thomas that did a 180 and went political, which never ends well, and a thread of Ochocinco going to the Saints from E! News.

Please... we aren't Nazi's around here by any means. I find remarks like that very insulting. It also holds no water.

RaginCajun83 11-18-2010 12:35 PM

Not to thread jack but I have to agree, the reason why I like this board is that we normally police ourselves and your opinion is actually listened to unlike some other sites I've been on

RaginCajun83 11-18-2010 12:36 PM

ok ... back on topic

As a moderator i take offense to that, i take pride in being the most lenient non-Nazi, most laid back moderator ever, believe me if the board was trashed we moderators discuss a reason why it was and if it should remain trashed, we are very diplomatic here, i read through that thread and the topic was totally changed, no reason to keep it on the board disturbing Saints related stuff, we're not going to allow topics to get derailed.. Sorry, there are boards around that allow that, go look at their traffic compared to ours and you'll see why we are currently gaining more popularity.

Anyway all opinions are welcomed and everyone is welcomed to start a topic about anything you want, just please try and be on topic and start the topics in the right threads and you'll be aiigght.

Back on to Micheal Vick, some of ya'll are still thinking about that dog event,
I don't see how Rapist Ben get's a pass but Vick family harms dogs and serves all of his time given by the courts and you want him to just vanish, Ben has had 2 Rape cases just evaporate, Favre has sent nude pix of himself to a chick and he gets no punishment, in fact the NFL is trying to cover it up for him, yet Vick gets crucified, used as an example, dragged around, all of his funds drained, and he basically has to start over from scratch and people want to completely kick the guy and all that talent off the field? where's the fairness?
If he was completely garbage i'd agree, why is he playing, but that man has made a complete turn around, i don't think he'll be a repeat offender and he's paid his dues, he should be allowed to play and im happy for him.

SaintPauly 11-19-2010 10:52 AM

I agree on all counts Wrath, and his past, (other than his football related past), has nothing to do with my observations. I am basing my opinion, on the teams he's torched. Washington is just a terrible team right now. Let me see him do it against the Giants, and I will give him some props.

To be completely honest, someone's personal life, is none of my business. I keep it that way with everything.

I believe if someone's personal life involves something highly illegal or especially heinous it becomes society's business. If your next door neighbor enjoys serial killing or running a meth lab in the bathroom as part of their personal life, then I'm sure you would want to make it your business.

Thanks for point this out. Ummmm Please list the NFL record(s) he has set?

Now in 2006 he broke two records but that was with the Falcons and does you nor the Eagles any good. But That hodgepodge of fanboy manlove, combination of achievements strung together was not an Official NFL Record.

What everyone is calling the "Record he set" Does not exist.

Please do not be offended I was having a rough morning and never saw what had transpired after I had left my last PT comment. I just know I logged in and the thread no longer existed in my list of last posts, and search would not find it... I own and mod a few different boards and fully understand, and appreciate your soft handed approach.. Hell, the fact that you even took the time to reply to he lifts you up a few thousand notches in my book.

B.O.T... I do not give Ben a pass, or Vick. Having one momentary lapse of character does not a bad guy make. Just like getting in a fight while drunk does not make someone less appealing to drink around.. Condoning, orchestrating, participating, and profiting from an illegal and immoral act like dog fighting puts a person right below whale sh1t in my book. So does abusing females... Neither should be allowed to play the game. They both broke the leagues Code of Conduct intentionally and repeatedly... There were no "misunderstandings"... THen when you look at sports as a whole... And look at Rose being kept out of the Hall of Fame because of betting... You really have to wonder... What in the hell does an NFL player have to do to get the boot???

I mean we almost lost players for 6 games (I believe) because of the use of a product that was not on the NFL's No-No list. Thats two more games than Rapist Ben!

Favre should be suspended after the "Porkey's p3nis" line up... But the NFL does not want to harm his precious start record.

I just want to point out, that it's perfectly ok, NOT TO AGREE ON EVERYTHING. Would be pretty boring in here, if we all just agreed with each other. I don't think that Vick is the "best" qb in the NFL, and I'm not going to change my mind on it. I'm also not saying he's a bad QB either. Just feel the way I do, and I'm not going to just flip my opinion.

The answers I sought were found with Google and listed..... "buddy". Maybe you should use "the Google" also and be able to justify your claims?

And as I stated... previously.. Lets look at his performance against the Giants Defense.

Passing: 24/38 258/yrds 0/TD's
Rushing: 11carrys for 34yds 3.1 ave yds/cry 1/TD. 9 yards was his longest.

QB rating 83.... 2 fumbles 1 lost.

Ehhem. What say you now?

Considering he's been in Jail or on the sidelines for most of those 3...meh...not so amazing.

grrr, beat me to it.

Seems the giants studied our footage vs Vicky from 2005-2006. Would be sweet if the E-gals and the failclowns made the playoffs, then we can beat both teams. It will be like kicking the old failclowns team butt again, yahoo.
