Whoever gets that job starts out with a very decent team. A decent QB[Mcnabb perhaps] and they are a contender...

Singletary is not going to be unemployed very long. Some team will snatch him up as a DC for sure.
Yes, the 49ers do have a lot of nice players, and QB is an issue with them. Not sure if McNabb is the solution, but they need to do something. They should have dominated that division this year. Gregg Williams may indeed get an offer for a HC spot. There are now officially 4 openings, should be several more after next week. Dallas, Minnesota, Denver, and now San Francisco are open. Probably add Carolina, Cincinnati, Miami, Houston, San Diego, and Tennessee to the list. Really going to be difficult to keep him around unless he really has no desire to be a HC again. |

Even ol' Matt Flynn might be an option given his last showing. I also wouldn't rule out Toy Smith if he ever got the chance for real. Singletary will be a good DC somwhere and his next stint as a HC will be much more succesful, just a gut feeling i have. |

I was getting tired of his tirades on and off the field. Great player but too high strung to coach. When I saw him run on the field against the Saints I loss respect fo him as a head coach, getting involved in petty affairs and yelling at players on the field. That's not the job of a head coach. The head coach gets on his staff members not players.

Pressurepressurepressure.
HC's know you either win or get replaced. owners want to win. Thing that always gets me is they fire their HC during the season, or close to the end, then pull someone from that coaching staff. I guess the reasoning is that owners want to see if the next one up can do some magic before the end of the season when the onwer fires the whole coaching staff. So far, Vikings, Cowboys, 49's coaching staffs will be out the door. |
