wow, i new the antlers them selves are all proteins and mineral build up. i've seen cattle, rats and mice chewing on the horns that have been shed from the previous year.

Wow. Interesting. But you know, it kind of makes sense, seeing as how the antler starts off very soft, while still in velvet. But by the time the velvet has been rubbed off, the antlers are like bone.
