Well chapter 11 doesn't really mean he is broke but that he is trying to protect some of his assets.

I never understood how players get into to so much financial trouble.

It's not even that complicated just plain common sense to distrubute your money so that even in the event an investment fails you can still recover. I don't feel sorry for anyone that takes those kinds of risk.

And not make outlandish and big, risky investments that can leave a huge lost if they go bad and they usually do.
