Actually, I think it's kind of cool. The city showing support for their local frachise. They do give the officers the choice of wearing the new badge or the traditional badge. The Packers are owned by the citizens of Green Bay, and the citizens of Green Bay pay the city employees. I don't see a problem with it. Would you object with a New Orleans police officer having the choice of a crescent or a fluer-di-lis on his badge? I wouldn't.

Second, the NOPD badge DOES have a crescent on it, duh. |

Yeah, I gues I can see your point about it looking cheesy.
I'm in a town where the community has zero support for any sports teams. We've had several football leagues, including CFL, Arena, and other leagues, several baseball leagues, including a AA farm team for the SanFrancisco Giants, and a semi profesional hockey team, all of which are long gone because they got no support from the city or the community. So any time I see a lot of community support for a team, I like it, because I know know the other side. But yeah, the badge, I guess it does kinda look like something you'd buy in a souvenier shop.
