Dolphins cut DB Sapp after giving up 99-yard TD
DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- After getting beat on a 99-yard pass, Benny Sapp got bounced by the Miami Dolphins. The veteran nickel back was cut Tuesday, according to a tweet by his agent, Andrew Simms. The move came less than 24 hours after Sapp gave up the longest play in New England Patriots history on a pass from Tom Brady to Wes Welker. Brady threw for a team-record 517 yards and four scores Monday night to help New England win 38-24. The departure of Sapp, an eighth-year pro, leaves Nolan Carroll and rookie Jimmy Wilson as the Dolphins' backup cornerbacks. Starters Vontae Davis and Sean Smith were also beaten repeatedly by the Patriots. Scape goat.
The seed has been planted for their future FA's and UDFA's. I'm signing elsewhere. |

I'd think about cutting somebody on our supposedly "much improved" special teams, after Cobb reeled off that NFL record-tying 108 yard kickoff return... which is way more embarrassing to the Saints than that one play was to the Dolphins....but honestly, I simply can't bear to watch that return again, to see who might have whiffed.
