Are the Niners a serious threat????
I just cannot make myself fear Alex Smith, in a play off scenario..... He is a notorious choker, and even with Harbaugh at head coach now, i dont see them winning in the post season. Not to mention, have u seen their schedule???? I do have bias, because i really hate the niners with a passion, but by football standpoint, i think its all smoke and mirrors.

Fundamental football. They run the ball effectively, play good defense, and do just enough in the passing game with pass action passes and misdirection plays. The old school way of playing football still works... and they're a prime example of it. Good hard nosed football team that are contenders... but far from elite.

The 49ers are sneaky good. They are becoming a very solid team and Smith seems to be improving by leaps and bounds.

Their secondary is not that good. And besides the Giants, (at the stick), they haven't really played an elite QB yet. Romo carved them up, what do you think Rodgers, or Brees would do to them?

Yes, I think they are a serious threat. That said, I hope like hell we get to play those bastards in the playoffs...We still owe them PLENTY of payback for all those years in the NFCW, when Montana, Rice, Young, Lott, etc. Owned the Saints!!!!
Lest we forget... |

The problem is whether or not you can defend their ability apply pressure to expose their weakness.
I love their front seven... it's a treat to watch for the hard knocks. |

Yes, Alex Smith looked like a pro-bowl quarterback the last time he played us, and they have Gore who is a definite threat to our D.
