The kid is still very immature and needs to hire a publicist. While I can see where his heart is at and what his intentions were, that came out entirely the wrong way... by a mile.

This is just the start of his crap. Really, really bad choice by the Panthers. I wonder when he starts to make his demands, what a a$$hole. And to think it hasn't even been a full year.

You're right. He's a frustrated young guy who said some dumb things and in a day and age where every word by an athlete is digested and regurgitated by anyone with access to the internet, comments like those can get you run off by a fan base. However, he is setting rookie records so he'll be granted some leeway certainly.

I'd be pretty disappointed by the comments if I was a Panthers fan. The Superman schtick would be (and is) irritating to me. That reeks of selfishness and super egoism.
