Gotta give Vick credit. At least he is trying.

Vick is trying to stay out of that white-hot spotlight that is on the Saints right now!

I dunno that much could take the spotlight off the Saints right now.

I mean, the punishments alone, will be debated for quite some time.

But, I would love to know how many other teams did this same crap.

The NFL has truly opened up a nasty ole pandora's box. Congress is probably going to perform a Mitchell report-like investigation on bounty hunting, and slap fines/disciplinary action to all parties involved.

I know if I am the Saints mgmt, I would be demanding this.

Now, don't get me wrong, but I knew when the Saints played the Vikes in that NFCCG that it was OBVIOUS they were literally trying to kill Brett Favre.

It was actually pretty disturbing to watch.

Would you say the hit on Warner was also disgusting? That was an excessive hit, yet still perfectly legal. I'm not defending some of the hits on Favre but you raise an interesting point. I could see the NFL very soon laying down fines for excessive legal hits.

Yeah, of course.

Reminds me of when Warren Sapp layed out Clifton from the Packers and about ruined his career.

I was disgusted with Sapp for that. You wanna play nasty....that's fine. But, I believe there is a difference between nasty and cheap.

What Sapp did was cheap and the Warner ordeal was cheap, too.

You can kinda liken it to laying out a defenseless punter. Is it legal? Yes. Is it dirty and cheap? Yes.

I think the above should fall under a sportsmanship sort of doctrine, if you will.

Disturbing to watch?
Are you a football fan?

Let me tell you a story.
I was 1997, I think? I was at a bar watching the Saints game (had not DirecTV in those days). Next to me, there was a bunch of Pittsburgh fans watching the Steelers game. At one point, I hear them go "wow! yeah!" and I look over to see what had happened. What had happened, as I looked at the replay, the Steelers QB had gotten creamed and planted on the ground in a very spectacular fashion.

See? what happened there, those Steelers fans appreciated the play the opposing player made. This was the type of play they grew up watching in the 70s and 80s from the Steeler defense.

As for Farve, yet again, yes, he got hit. Often. Just like any QB in the NFL who holds the ball for too long when his o-line can't block worth a damn. Just ask David Carr, Jake Delhomme, Kerry Collins, etc etc etc etc etc etc...etc.Of course, most of those other QBs are not Brett Farve, the media darling, so no one cares if they get creamed, just that they make the 100 Greatest Hits DVD.

And, yet again, I will provide links to none other than the Vikings defense, the previous year (2008) going after Matt Schaub's knees and hitting him high-low, not once, but twice. And you are going to tell me, what the difference is between the Farve's high-low and the 2 Schaub's high-low.

Ok. I'll give you a hint: it is Jared Allen who dives shoulder first into Schaub's knees from behind well after Schaub had let go of the ball.
