Antwaan Randle El to announce retirement from the NFL
Antwaan Randle El will retire from the NFL on July 14, according to the Times of Northwest Indiana.
Randle El played nine seasons in the league and finished with 370 receptions for 4,467 yards and 15 touchdowns. Randle El also averaged 22.3 yards on 79 kick returns, with one score and 8.2 yards on 311 punt returns, scoring five touchdowns. Randle El, 33, was drafted in 2002 in the second round out of Indiana University, where he won the Big Ten’s offensive player of the year in 2001. He last played in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010 and is the only receiver to throw a touchdown pass in Super Bowl, accomplishing the feat in the Steelers 21-10 victory over the Seahawks in Super Bowl XL.
