Falcons Explain Stance On Gleason Statue

this is a discussion within the NFL Community Forum; I think all this started with some ESPN articles or somewhere. Why make such a big deal about this? If the tables were turned I'm sure we wouldn't want our logo on their statue. Sounds like ESPN/NFL networks stirring the ...

Sounds like ESPN/NFL networks stirring the pot to generate more unnecessary B.S. for them to feed off of.

I think an old-fashioned spraypaint stencil is probably going to take care of that small oversight about the logo on the statue, at one of these upcoming night games. 72,000 people dressed in identical Drew Brees and Jonathan Vilma jerseys milling around. Loud "Who Dat!" shouts drown out the little rattling of the ball in the shaking can. Chicka chicka chicka chicka. Ssssssssssss. Ssssssssssss.

Security guys runs up and says -- hey, did you fellas see who did this?

I sure didn't, officer. Nope. I think there were two of them... I think they were wearing a Brees and a Vilma jersey, and they ran THAT WAY (points in direction of sea of 40,000 people in Champions Square, all wearing Brees and Vilma jerseys). I think they were headed towards gate E, or maybe Gate C. They're probably inside by now. Or maybe there were three of them, I couldn't really tell.

Fine. Nothing wrong with putting a plackard on it. At the bottom add an asterick:

* Falcons would not authorize their logo on the helmet
