PFF: 32 Teams in 32 Days: Atlanta Falcons
What to Expect?
The Falcons have found themselves in that ugly area of being an extremely good team, but one that seems unable to match the high-powered dominant sides each year, and comes unstuck every time they reach the postseason. They tried to address that by adding some more dynamic weapons on offense, and getting a little more talented on defense, but they have done so at the expense of the offensive line which until recently had been the foundation of an exceptionally reliable ball-control offense. Now they need those playmakers just to match the output they once had with steadier blocking. In the end, I think the Falcons will tread water this season – have another strong showing, and maybe make the postseason again, but fail to threaten the Lombardi Trophy. All little common sense goes a long way. |

I like what the article said about them losing Lofton, even though the Saints will prove that he is a 3 down MLB...

Re: PFF: 32 Teams in 32 Days: Atlanta Falcons
I agree with the math equation of "reliable ball control offense" minus the solid offensive line = recipe for disaster. That's the Falcons' past success in a nutshell and they just made it weaker. They will win some games they are supposed to win against weaker teams, get all full of themselves once again, and then will implode in the postseason when lined up against a real playoff caliber team, that is if they can even get there to the post season.

IMO there defense is going to be there Achilles heal. I think there offense will be a bit more explosive. Julio is the real deal unfortunately and they have a decent ground game.
I don't think they can match up with our offense though and we are going to find out soon enough that we got the better DC. |
