49rs and Giants
I hope the Giants can finish just as they have started.
NYG 17 SF. 3 It's one I those games where if wish it were a dual where both sides take one to the head at the same time. Since I don't have that sort of luck, I hope SF goes down in flames. |

Re: 49rs and Giants
Glad I started Dalton over Smith this week in FF, with Brees on a bye. Seriously, I root for Smith and think he could be a good QB. I just dont think he's had the opportunity with switching OCs every other year, and the Niners deliberately taking the ball out of his hands. This game is an aberration as far as Smith picks. Who hasnt had a game like this?

Re: 49rs and Giants
Why do they take the ball out of his hands? I saw Kapernick come in intermittently during the game... WTF are they saving him for?
Dalton is by far a better fantasy QB than Smith. |

Re: 49rs and Giants
I did not watch the whole game, only parts of it (was in and out of the room doing stuff). But the BIG THING I noticed was that, from when it was 3-0 up until around 24-3 when I had to stop watching, the Giants WERE running the ball, even though it wasn't really working for them. They'd get 1, 2 yards per carry, sometimes a loss, but they didn't abandon the run. And I felt like that seemed to be the classic running the ball to set up the pass, or to keep the defense honest, unlike some certain offensive coordinators I could mention.
You didn't really see the Giants going pass/pass/pass in these panicky jittery three-and-outs, like the Saints do. They'd maybe pass on first, for like 4 or 5 yards, then run on second down for 2, or maybe run for zero or even a loss of one (that San Fran defense is really good); and then Eli would throw a nicely set-up pass play, for like 13 yards, on 3rd down, when they needed it, a lot of playcalling like that. |

Re: 49rs and Giants
Towards the end it looked like the 49ers defense got tired. NYG were chunking out huge runs through holes I could drive a bis through.

Never know which Giant team will show up. Glad it was this one today.
